Original Hummus: everyone’s favorite party dip

1 can chick peas, drained
2 cloves fresh garlic, peeled and pressed
Juice of ½ lemon
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons Larapin Mommas Mix

Directions:

1. Put all ingredients except olive oil in processor.  Then add oil slowly while processing, and it comes together, blending thoroughly. 
2. Place in bowl and drizzle 1TBS of olive oil on top for presentation if desired.
3. Serve at room temperature, or chilled with sliced veggies, crackers, pretzels or pita bread. It also doubles as a great spread on a sandwich or wrap!

*Mom tip* Always unplug the processor or blender; never stick your hand inside the appliances.

Green Bean Casserole: A holiday classic that my kids would eat year ‘round.

1 container fresh sliced mushrooms
1 batch of green onion, chopped (all the way to the top)
2 teaspoons butter
2 can green beans, drained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can of regular, almond or evaporated milk
1 can French-fried dried onions
Cheddar cheese, shredded (personal option)


Directions:

1. Saute’ mushrooms and green onion in butter in small pan and transfer to a large in baking dish. 
2. Add green beans, mushroom soup, milk, and generous shakes of Larapin Momma’s Mix.  Fold until mixed. You can use the same dish for less mess.
3.
Add cheddar cheese on top and then French-fried dried inions; cover top evenly. 
4. Cook at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until bubbly. 

*Mom tip* If you need a smaller portion, cut ingredients in half.

Fresh tomato sauce: the perfect sauce is the foundation to a great dish

8-10 fresh tomatoes
4 cloves of fresh garlic, peeled
3 TBSP Olive Oil
2 TBSP Momma’s Mix
Fresh basil, optional

Directions:

1. Place 8-10 tomatoes in pan of water, along with 4 peeled cloves of garlic.
2. Turn on high and bring to a boil, until skins start to split.  When skins start to split, leave about 6 minutes.
3. Lift out with slotted spoon and place in another pan.
4. If making pasta, use tis same water to cook pasta (It’s already hot).
5. After tomatoes and garlic cloves are transferred into saucepan, use a potato masher to mash tomatoes, 6. creating a fresh chunky tomato sauce using all parts of the tomato.
7. Add olive oil and Momma’s Mix and let Simmer for 10 minutes.
8. Ready to use in any dish!
