The mix Story

Larapin is an old word that describes food that is so delicious you are lost for words. I grew up hearing my Mama using this word as her go-to description to determine how good the food was…or if it was worth the calories. That word stuck with me, often serving as a sweet memory of my mom cooking in the kitchen as I began to judge my own creations on the same scale.

How did Momma’s Mix begin? When my kids were young, I never wanted to think about my children living without me, but if something did happen, I wanted to prepare them in a way that I knew would really help them take care of themselves and their families.

I decided the best way to do that was to put their favorite recipes in writing and create a teaching tool for them to use as if I was cooking right beside them. Larapin Good, my conversational cooking guide, was born.

With cooking being my love language, I realized a little sprinkle of my hand blended seasoning mix was included in almost every recipe and seemed to go with everything I was putting in the book for my kids. “The Mix” had been born and I didn’t even realize it.

I began to give “The Mix” to friends and family, but quickly outgrew my own kitchen and the demand. I am so happy to offer these labors of love to my children. Now you, too, can experience the incredible flavor and create memories of your own.

I am proud to say that Momma’s Mix is versatile and you can use it in just about anything. We sure do. Whether it's a salad sprinkle, a seasoning for Tuesday night taco meat, salmon, spaghetti, a rub for steak and hamburgers, folded into mashed potatoes, or even scrambled eggs, you can use Momma’s Mix alone or with Mommacita’s and create magic! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I hope you will cook often, try new things and just maybe incorporate Larapin Momma's Mix into a few dishes along the way. Treat the people!
